Follow organic dairy farmer Jonathan Gates as he reports weekly from his Vermont family farm. Howmars Farm is a certified organic dairy farm, one of many Organic Valley/CROPP Cooperative farmer members who supply the milk that goes into making Stonyfield's yogurts and smoothies. The entire family pitches in on this third-generation farm. Check out some of the happenings on his farm and post your comments. Jonathan loves to get feedback from readers.Moo-vie News: Who says not to eat the snow?Joanie, one of Jonathan's herd, enjoys quite a bit of the new-fallen snow at Howmars Farm one sunny morning. This is Great !!!!
we all used to eat the top snow when it first fell.
My granddaughters are going to love this...
I'll show them the video.
Thanks ;)

I just showed this video to my son Manni who is 7 and has lots of questions about factory farms vs. family farms.
He started crying and when I asked him why the tears, he answered "Because I've never seen a cow so happy before and I'm just so grateful".
We thank you for raising happy cows!!
With love and admiration,
Fran & Manni

I love Joanie! She is a beautiful cow. I would dearly love to visit Vermont some day and perhaps see your cows. Dream: live a couple of weeks on a dairy farm taking care of the animals, learning how to milk, etc. What an experience it would be!

Just wanted to thank you for your efforts, hard work. I enjoy Stonyfield for the reasons you get up everyday and do your job...its the right thing to do. I cherish Vermont for its yogurt, cheese & syrup. Vermont is always welcome at my house. May God richly bless you and your efforts.
